Project Era is an unofficial version of Fortnite that allows players to access old seasons and gameplay from 2018. Erafn.org is its official website, but for the past few days it has been offline and the only way to get Project Era is its Discord channel. It has been gaining popularity recently as a way for iOS users to play Fortnite again after it was removed from the App Store.

Project Era is not available on the App Store and requires sideloading to install on iOS devices. Sideloading refers to installing apps from outside the App Store by using the service Sideloadly. Let’s see how to get Project Era from iOS erafn.org and download Fortnite on iOS.

Requirements

  • An iPhone or iPad running iOS 16.3 or later
  • A Windows or Mac computer
  • iTunes installed on the computer
  • An Apple ID (free or paid)
  • Discord on computer
  • Sideloadly installed on your computer
  • The Project Era IPA file

Since the iOS erafn.org website is offline, you have to use Discord.

Step 1: Install Sideloadly on Computer

The first step is to install Sideloadly on your computer. These services allow you to sideload IPA files onto your iOS device.

  • Go to sideloadly.io and download the Sideloadly app on your Windows or Mac computer. Follow the setup instructions.

Sideloadly requires an Apple ID to sideload apps. You can use a free or paid developer account.

Step 2: Download the Project Era IPA File

Next, you’ll need to download the Project Era IPA file to sideload onto your device.

You can get the latest IPA file from the official Project Era website at ios.erafn.org or https://cdn.erafn.org/ProjectEra.ipa. Make sure to download the full IPA file, not the delta which is just an update. The current latest version is Project Era Season 8. You can check its latest update on its X/Twitter page.

Step 3: Sideload Project Era using Sideloadly

With the IPA file downloaded, you can now sideload Project Era onto your iOS device using Sideloadly.

To sideload with Sideloadly:

  1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer via USB, or connect over Wi-Fi.
  2. Open Sideloadly and log in with your Apple ID.
  3. Click on “Install IPA” and select the Project Era file.
  4. Follow the prompts to install Project Era onto your device.

The sideloading process will sign the IPA file with your Apple ID and install Project Era the same way an App Store app would be installed.

Step 4: Trust and Launch Project Era

After the sideloading is completed, you’ll need to trust Project Era before you can open it:

  1. On your iOS device, go to Settings => General => VPN & Device Management
  2. Under Enterprise App, tap on your Apple ID
  3. Tap Trust to verify the developer certificate

You can then open Project Era and start playing classic Fortnite!

Note that sideloaded apps will expire after 7 days unless they are refreshed using Sideloadly. So, you’ll need to reconnect your device to resign the apps each week.

Step #5: Download Fortnite

Now open the installed app and Fortnite will begin to download on your iPhone. It will take some time as it downloads over 3GB of data.

Step #6: Fortnite Login with Project Era

When you get a login option, you need to get credentials from Project Era. Here’s the process:

  1. Download Project Era on PC from here.
  2. Log into Era with your Discord account
  3. Open Era => Library => Launch and you will find an external platform login for you.
  4. Use that email address and password to log in to Fortnite on iOS.

Now you can play Fortnite’s old seasons on your iOS device.
